Birthday gift from Judith

I received my birthday exchange from Judith today and was excited to see what she stitched. Apparently she is aware of how much I like Halloween designs because she selected this great design and finished it as a long skinny pillow, how cute. Judith also stitched a floss caddy using some wonderful Moda fabric. Thank you Judith for the wonderful birthday surprise.

It's almost 2009

I have been doing some house keeping here at the SBBC - and have removed 2008 Members that are not continuing into 2009 and I have sent out to invitations to new members so that you can post here on the Blog. Now - if I have inadvertently removed you or you did not receive and invite please let me know - I can and do make mistakes so please do not take it personally - just email me. I will be adding the 2009 member listing in the next day or so.

Birthday Package from Hannah!

I received a wonderful package from Hannah on Monday! I waited until today to actually open it up. Thanks so much for the charts from my wishlist, the needle magnets, floss holder (so cute!!), ribbons, thread counter, and fabrics! I LOVE everything! I have been so spoiled ! Birthday from Danielle

A few days ago I received an e-mail from 1-2-3 Stitch that I had a birthday gift certificate from Danielle. I ordered three charts, one of which was back ordered. I received it Friday, so I can show my stash. Celebrated the big day on the 29th and had a good day. Here's my goodies pictured above. I tried to contact Danielle, however her blog link is not valid. So, with that said, thank you so much for the birthday gift Danielle. I love the charts I chose!

My birthday gift from Heather

Earlier this week I had a notice from the post office that there was a parcel waiting for me to pick it up. I couldn't make the trip to the post office until friday afternoon. I had butterflies in my stomach when I saw the parcel was from Heather, could hardly wait until I came back home to open it up. Everything was packed so neatly in a box. When I opened up the box there were several small packets inside wrapped up in lovely pink wrapping. Heather, I am really speachless for your gifts, thank you ever so much. Heather stitched me a pattern by "By The Bay" and finished it as a pinkeep, I really love it. She went for a water theme for my gift and the box was packed full with wonderful things. Heather hit my wishlist and I received The Summer Snapperland by Bent Creek including the border + embellishments and the DMC threads needed to stitch this pattern. I also received 2 tins (I´ve never done a tin finish so I'm excited to try that), a magnet note pad, some small buttons, a candle, needles, fabric, small birthday box and a bookmark. You have to see it on pictures. Again, thanks a million Heather for making my birthday very special.

And "Kindness" from one of LHN's Dear Diary charts. The stitched piece is not sewn in, so Sue says I can finish it into something else if I wish. The little fabric frame is adorable. I'll have to try to sew one up one of these days.

OMG, just make sure you are sitting down and then have a look what I received from Kathryn! I have been soooooooooooo spoiled - I don't even know where to start from!

Kathryn, I absolutely loved everything you chose for me. You couldn't have done a better job. The flatfold you stitched for me is really pretty - and since I have never received (or stitched) one before I will cherish this! I never expected to receive so much (not that I'm complaining ;D) and since I'm still flabbergasted I'm just going to let the photos speak for themselves. Thank you so much, you're such a sweetheart! :-D

In the mail today, I received the most wonderful birthday present from Cindy in Illinois! I opened the box and it smelled wonderful. Look at this pile of presents!

Unwrapping all the gifts, I was overwhelmed by all of the Autumn-themed goodies: Candy (!), Silkweaver hand-dyed fabrics, 3 charts, stickers, backing fabrics, special cocoas, buttons, threads from Carrie's Creations, a pumpkin mug, a yummy-scented candle, almond soap, a hand-made beaded fob and this adorable Fall pillow!!!

Can you say, spoiled???? Wow! Thanks, Cindy for a wonderful birthday gift!

Although it isn't quite my birthday yet, I received a package in the mail from Finland today...

I wondered what it could be, and figured that it had to be my SBBC exchange! Should I be patient and wait and wonder? My curiosity got the best of me, and I just had to open it! Inside, I found the most fabulous witchy Halloween pinkeep that Sari stitched for me!! It was absolutely perfect, and I could not have been more thrilled!!!

I fell apart and opened Elanor's wonderful gift last night and here is a snap -


She stitched me a gorgeous bag with my initial on it. Included in the present were a great pair of scissors, some finishing pins, a great piece of linen, a lovely chart and a bag of dark chocolate!!! it was a super birthday surprise package and I really love the wonderfully stitched and finished bag!!! Finally it was my birthday and I received this wonderful gift from Julianne yesterday. A pretty bag and inside it... two pieces of Silkweaver fabric, three skeins of silk (I don't have any Belle Soie from before), a self stick note-book (or what ever you call it in English: ) and a wooden thread keep! AND on top of that she said she will send me later something self stitched...and ON TOP OF THAT she's ordered me a chart from my wishlist together with the fabric, thread and embellishments!!!!Thank you so much, I'm truly grateful, this really is a wonderful gift!!

Here is the 2009 SBBC Information -

Stitching Bloggers Birthday Club

Sign ups are between August 29^th and September 26^th. The week of September 29^th you will receive a partners name for a Birthday and you are responsible for sending that person a Birthday gift. You don’t stitch/buy for everyone – just the name you receive.

The Guidelines are fairly simple….. When you sign up – you must stay in the club a full year and/or until your gift is sent to the name you receive. You are required to send the gift within a week of the recipients Birthday. There are no requirements as to how much or how little you send or the dollar amount you spend – that is left up to each individual – however keep in mind you may not receive as much as you send. Something else to remember is that this is an International exchange. For information or ideas about what the person you are sending to likes you should check out the recipient’s blog and or wish list to help you decide what send. It will be a secret as to who is sending to whom. You will receive your partner info after sing-ups close during the week of September 29^th.

There are really only THREE things that are important for each participant to know and they are….. that you - 1) Send your package so that it will arrive with the week of your partners birthday, 2) You should blog when you send the package – so I can know it was sent, 3) Blog when you receive your gift – so that the sender and I will know that it has arrived. An e-mail of thanks would also be nice as well. To keep this fair if you fail to follow through with your commitment of sending to your partner, you will be removed from the club without the opportunity to rejoin.

If you are interested and to make sure you get to participate in the 2009 SBBC, please send your info to me at the following email – edgar matt @ gmail . com (remove spaces) – NO later then September 26, 2008. Your email will need to include the following: Your Name, mailing address, birth date, blog url, and a wish list or your likes/interest).

The program will officially start in January 1, 2009. ALL Stitching Bloggers are welcome to participate; this is an international club so everyone is welcome!!!!!

I received a second package from Edda this week :-) She had written that she was stitching me a gift to go along with the goodies she sent earlier... wow, this is amazing. She stitched me this gorgeous stitcher's set... scissor pocket, fob and needlebook with little silver heart charms and perfect little stitches. I love it! And... she tucked a pair of the silver swan scissors I have been coveting inside that pocket ;-) Thank you Edda!!! You really made my bday special!

Today is my birthday, and I received this lovely package from Edda! It came a good week or so ago, but I did wait until today to open it! I've been blown away by the kindness of family, colleagues and friends old and new today. I've had such a fabulous birthday.

Here is my AMAZING birthday package from Kendra for the Stitching Blogger's Birthday Club.

As soon as I opened the package I recognised my three cats on my first ever floss tag. It's really lovely that Kendra chose to stitch something which has a lot of meaning to me :-)



Her kindness didn't stop there. She also included two Prairie Schooler charts from my wishlist, a copy of the JCS Ornament Preview Issue, an M Designs Needleroll chart, two metal floss rings, a cute little Doodle kit (so dinky), two skeins of amazing coloured floss (I can't wait to use these!), a postcard for my collection and a birthday card. Talk about spoilt!

What a Nice Gift!!!

Hi Everyone!!! Sorry I'm a little late in posting...I've had family visiting since my Birthday and well...you know how all that goes...but I did take a second to thank Natasha that day for such a lovely surprise. The surprise being my Birthday gift was from her:-) Here is a picture of all the nice little gifties and most particularly the tin she stitched....Verrry cute!















Note the two (!!) Whitman's Candy tins. She found them for me (Yippy!!! They were a rare gem in this neck of the woods) along with a some silks, charts, needles and so many other little cute things. I feel so lucky to have her for my Secret Birthday gift. Thanks again Natasha!

Look what Nela sent me for my birthday!

OMGosh! Nela, thank you so much! I love this! It is a coffee/teapot, it is unbelievable the detail this piece has. She also sent me coffee, candy, plus a silky bag filled with assorted ribbons, floss, beads, trinkets and crystals! Nela outdid herself! Thank you again! My neighbor speaks Spanish so I'm gonna get her to translate my card! Super job!!!!!
